Synopsis
She never thought it would go this far.

It started out so innocently, but now has taken on a life of its own. Problem is, Lindsay Palmer doesn't know how to stop. Even worse, she doesn't want to stop. Her daily deceit has become both her greatest pleasure and deepest shame. Thousands of people love her, but would they if they knew the truth.

A simple favor for his baby sister brings Lindsay into Luke Jamieson's life. There's something about this girl that keeps her on his mind hours and days after each time they meet. Now here he is, falling in love with a liar. All he wants is for her to let him in, and maybe together he can lead her out of the cage of her own construction.

Will the truth set her free, or have her lies already destroyed everything?

Carey Heywood is another one of the authors I had the opportunity to meet at Romance Riot in NYC.  Prior to going to NYC I had a goal to read at least one book by each of the authors and I am so glad I did. When the opportunity to read and ARC of this book, I jumped at the chance.

I actually read this book without even looking at the synopsis. I just jumped right in.

We are introduced to Lindsay, a super cool and chic fashion blogger.  She has a secret. From the outside, she’s just like a lot of my friends. I have many Facebook friends that I have never met, but I can relate to.  She has become a fashion blogger with quite a following.  She is contacted by a high school nemesis and invited to the class reunion.  She is on a mission to attend but with her quirks will she be able to get herself there and feel comfortable? Her thoughts are not unlike many women, this one included.  Learning to love yourself, inside and out, is just one of the lessons that Lindsay learns. (I need to do this myself!)

I don’t want to get too far into what Lindsay’s secret is because I don’t want to ruin it for you.

We meet Luke, the loveable personal trainer brother of one of Lindsay’s few inner circle.  Luke is your normal guy (who happens to be absolutely gorgeous) who has nothing but Lindsay’s best interest at heart. He slowly but surely gets Lindsay to trust him.  He may be a bit pushy at times (well, at least Lindsay thinks he is), but his reasoning behind caring is not full of an agenda, he truly wants whats best for her.  He is one of the truest, most genuine characters I have read in a book in a while.  We are always reading about the alpha males but the nice boy next door is my favorite character to read about.

I think this book is such a refreshing change to the normal alpha-male-saves-the-damsel-in-distress book that has flooded the market.  This book has a serious undertone with laughter, smiles, tears and genuine friendship woven throughout it.

Rating: 4/5 stars

An ARC was received for an honest review.
