The storyline of this book is what caught my attention. At first it seemed like a typical story of a vampire and human falling in love but this book had so many different aspects than an other vampire book. You get see a human who doesn't know they are witch become a vampire. That was something I was not expecting. In most paranormal novels the character is either or, never both. It makes for an interesting combination.

As the storyline builds you really begin to feel for Poppy. It really makes you think what would you do if you had cancer. The emotion in the book is so realistic that you can actually imagine someone feeling that way. Taking out the fact that this a story about a secret world of vampires, witches, and werewolves it is something you could see happening in real life. By that I mean finding out a close friend has cancer and you willing to do anything necessary to help her.

The only thing I would have done different in this book is the ending. There are a few things you don't see coming but I feel it ended short. It was a story that could easily be continued. I felt left with some questions I wanted answered. Other than that it was a good book that never lost my attention.
